You can submit many different types of hair from head hair to beard hair.
We accept a variety of hair types. The most accurate is from the back of the head. However, you can submit pubic hair or chest hair.
Our hair analysis for pets and animals does not require a specific location for the hair sample, but for human hair, we require the following:
- Head Hair (preferred)
- Pubic Hair (cut or shaved, not plucked – ouch)
- Chest or beard hair
Please note! You CANNOT mix the different types of hair together in one sample. If you submit head hair, and the amount is insufficient for the lab test, you will need to submit more head hair to be added to the first sample.
If you do not have enough head hair to add to the original sample, then an entirely new sample from a different part of your body can be submitted. Don’t worry if this happens – it is more common than you think, and can easily be resolved.
